Shirley Williams Ford, age 71, resident of Collierville, Tennessee, passed away on January 2, 2021 due to complications of Dementia.

A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Ford was at 2 P.M. Friday, January 8, 2021 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. Tony Watkins officiating. The address is 10670 Highway 64, Somerville, TN 38068. Interment will be on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Germantown, Tennessee on Wednesday, January 20, 2021. Condolence cards may be mailed to 1462 E Cedar St, Pocatello, ID 83201.

Mrs. Ford was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She spent 21 years supporting her husband, Jeff, as a dedicated Army wife. She was often the main support person for the wives when their husbands were in the field or deployed; not only did she love the military wives, for they loved her too. Shirley’s faith was strong and unwavering; she brought something to each Chapel or Church she attended that did not exist without her. Her laughter could often be heard before anyone saw her face; this laughter was contagious, and the joy of it could even be heard in her voice when she spoke. Music always reached the very depths of her soul. She sang in her beautiful alto voice, played piano, and even wrote songs of her own. Her love of music is one of the greatest gifts she gave her daughter. The world is a better place because of her contributions to it for the duration of her life.

She is survived by her “darling daughter,” Holly Ford; brother, Butch Williams (Tammy); sister-in-law, Glenda Sutton; brother-in-law, Carl “Tuffy” Ford (Eileen), and a host of other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 32 years, Jeff Ford; her father, R.C. Williams; her mother, Grace Stinson Williams; and her sister, Bonnie Grayum.

The family requests that no flowers or plants be sent; instead, they ask that contributions be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America, online at pva.org or by mail at: PVA: Donation Processing Center, P.O. BOX 758532, Topeka, KS 66675-8532 in memory of Shirley Williams Ford.
