Services Our Funeral Directors Provide To Your Family

At a time of loss, many families are unsure of what to expect or who to turn to. This will explain ways that we can help your family. Our compassionate professional funeral directors are dedicated to helping your family navigate through the process with care, dignity, and support.

What is a Funeral Director?

A funeral director is a licensed professional trained to manage and educate on all aspects of the funeral process. Our directors serve as caregivers, organizers, educators, and guides to ensure everything runs smoothly and respectfully. 

Initial Contact and Care Once A loved One’s Death Occurs

Receiving vital information from family or healthcare professional once notified about a death


Coordinating our care team to the hospital, residence or place of death


Placement of identification band after verifying your loved one’s identification with family member or healthcare professional


Transporting your loved one into our care


Keeping your loved one in a safe and secure manner until disposition is complete


We will fingerprint your loved one and maintain the prints in a secure manner


Communicating with your family about what to expect for the arrangement conference. We will direct families to our website as a useful resource to assist them with questions and cost information


Scheduling a convenient time to meet with your family about your loved one’s meaningful service

Arrangements

Greet our families at the door of our business office where we plan a meaningful service and honor your loved ones’ wishes


Provide families with water, soda, wine and cookies or light snacks in a comfortable setting


Listen and gain knowledge about your loved ones’ life. Discuss their wishes and answer questions. We will discuss options that may be beneficial to your family 


Present and provide a copy of our professional funeral planning guide and General Price List (GPL) to your family


Discuss and coordinate the time for your loved one’s funeral service


Coordinate the use and availability of location for the visitation/service 


Obtain the information and assist you with writing an obituary notice. Once approved, we will submit to the newspapers of your choice, post to our website and social media for public viewing


Gather the necessary information for all the required legal documents and review these documents with you


Inform you with all options and educate you about the services and products available


View the available merchandise in a non-pressure manner. We will also discuss the purposes and differences of the casket/urn/alternative containers and an outer container/vault


View and discuss memorial keepsakes and discuss personalization


Educate you on service enhancement ideas and coordinate these with the appropriate parties


Order and coordinate flowers and delivery for you


If your loved one is a veteran, we will discuss specific benefits that you may be eligible to receive. We will obtain the U.S. Flag, coordinate military honors with appropriate branch of service, order the marker, headstone or medallion and assist you with the application for burial benefits, when applicable. A DD214 is required for the above benefits


Once decisions have been made on all services and merchandise selected, we will create and review a Statement of Goods and Services with your family for approval 


Print and provide you with a signed copy of the Statement of Goods and Services, as well as information about death certificates, social security, Thumbies fingerprint options, a useful food record guide and other printed materials that may be helpful to your family 


Explain payment options, process your payment and provide you with a receipt

After the arrangements are completed, but before the visitation or service

Coordination with the minister, certified celebrant, musician, or speaker of your choice for the service


When burial is chosen, we coordinate with the cemetery official and coordinate the marking of the specific grave location


Coordination with the person that handles the opening and closing of the grave or the opening and closing of the columbarium niche or mausoleum


Coordination of law enforcement or hired escort services for the funeral procession


Download music for the service


Upload all pictures and create your DVD Tribute Slideshow 


Post the slideshow to our website and social media platforms


Create and print the custom register book, memorial folders, bookmarks and candle


Call and coordinate all the pallbearers, when requested


Coordinate the order of service with the officiating minister(s), certified celebrant or speaker(s)


Notification sent to the Social Security Administration 


Assist you in filing any life insurance claims


When life insurance is used to pay for funeral services, we assist you with the paperwork for a third-party company to file your insurance claim


Electronically file for the certified death certificate and follow up with the doctor’s office to obtain the doctor’s signature on the death certificate in a timely manner. We also suggest every family reach out directly to the doctor to help with this process. This will increase the issuance of death certificates in a timely manner


Follow up with your family to help with any loose ends, details or questions 


Assist the family with getting information about estate settlement options


Assist you with options and tools to help you throughout the grief process


Prepare and set up for the visitation or service

Care of Your Loved One

When authorized, we handle the preparation and embalming of your loved one


We clean, disinfect and dress your loved one


Coordinate the hairdresser of your choice


Carefully place cosmetics on your loved one and respectfully place your loved one in the chosen casket/alternative container.


Transport your loved one to the place of visitation or service

Services we provide for the visitation/service

Set up the facility with your loved one in a dignified manner


Receive and place all flowers for the visitation or service. A copy of your flower card is removed from each floral arrangement and provided to you after the service


Coordinate sound checks with musicians, when necessary 


Coordinate parking when families are going to the cemetery in procession


Coordinate with law enforcement or the escort service for all processions


Coordinate any service enhancements (catering, dove release, balloon release, butterfly release, violinist, bagpiper, etc.)


Greet friends and family at the door


Direct the flow of friends and family for the visitation


Provide instruction to the pallbearers 


Direct the funeral service

Graveside services

Direct the services of the funeral service and graveside services


Transport your loved one to their final resting place


Transport cemetery flowers from place of service


Coordinate everything for the burial with the vault company 


Respectfully stay at the graveside until the outer container/vault is lowered and covered 


Placement of the cemetery flowers and temporary marker, as needed

Services we provide after the service

Following the services, we can transport flowers to the residence locally


Update and maintain a memorial page with photos, memories and condolences on our website that will remain forever


Text and check in with you occasionally
