Shirley Mae Tucker

Shirley Mae Tucker, age 87, of Somerville, Tennessee, departed this life on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Baptist Hospital, Collierville, Tennessee.

Mrs. Tucker was born on December 23, 1938, in Pocahontas, Tennessee, the daughter of Arling W. Jones and Lillie Mae Foster. She attended Humes High School in Memphis, Tennessee, graduating in 1956. She married James Donald Tucker on October 1, 1960.

Shirley was a homemaker throughout her life and enjoyed crocheting, gardening, fishing and dancing. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Mrs. Tucker was a lover of the outdoors and one of her favorite pastimes was spending time at Greers Ferry in Arkansas.

Mrs. Tucker is survived by her two sons, J. D. Tucker (Cheryl) of Laconia, Tennessee, and Ron Tucker (Jodie Bond) of Cordova, Tennessee; two brothers, Carol Lee Jones of Ashland, Mississippi, and Jerry Jones of Senatobia, Mississippi; eight grandchildren, Justin Tucker, Donna Tucker, Levi Glover, William Tucker, Courtney Tucker Yager, Willie Tuckier, Catie Tucker Brooks, and Mack Tucker; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Donald Tucker; one sister, Linda Butler; and one grandchild, Adalynn Starr “Addie” Yager.
